# 54 - Look, look, look
I don't remember what was the object we were looking at.
But must be a very-very-very interesting object.
Or was it a mirror?

# 53 - Big pile of ice cream, big fun, big sharing
as possible riding the bike. Each flag counted for 10 Big Milk ice creams
and in the end I had to donate them to some kids at my choice.
I chose a shelter for street kids next to my home.
All that under a soft, but rather cold rain.
And because no good deed should remain unpunished,
I received a looooooooooot of ice cream for home. So we've started to eat.
And eat...
And eat...
And eat...
And still a lot of ice cream was left. So we've had one more ice cream. Humans only this time.

# 52 - Everything has a first time
A few things happened for the first time last week-end:
1. We ate lasagna with zucchini (loved it!)
2. I made the mother of a 2 y.o. to hate me:
I played with her son and I taught him a lot of things
that mothers hate - build a ramp for the toy cars out of
thin wood boards, search for cartoon movies on youtube,
make fun of Hansel and Gretel,
launch the toy cars from the edge of the table, etc
3. My son became taller and heavier than me.
He is even able to carry me on.

# 50 - Ball & chips
Today we've visited Carol park. The purpose was to identify the chestnut trees with red flowers
(we'll come in autumn to collect the chestnuts fallen from those trees),
but we've ended up playing ball and eating chips.

# 42 - Servus! Buna! Szia!
Servus! Buna! Szia!
All meaning "Hi!"
If you're traveling to Transylvania,
any of the above is good.
But "Servus" is the best option.

# 39 - Happy Easter
Hope you like our home-made Easter decorations as much as we do.
And please note Octav's dramatic hair length change.
I didn't dare to do the same. Although I was considering it.
Happy Easter everyone!

# 38 - Cheerleading during the shoe lacing competition
Similar to other competitions, man is performing and girls are cheerleading.
And a new star is born: Octav "Faster than Canon's exposure time" Shoe Lacer
Yeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Happy Easter preparations everyone!

#36 - Where is global warming when you need it?
Bucharest, April 15th, 5 degrees Celsius.
Bad timing for packing and storing our winter coats.
Global warming, please visit us!

#32 - The magic terrace
This is a magic place for us:
a huge terrace on 7th floor, with a wonderful view over Bucharest
and lots of incredibly beautiful flowers.
Plus great parties during summer.
It's a little piece of heaven belonging to our magic aunt Lili.
Because magic places belong only to magic people.
Fortunately, we have a magic family and each member of the family
has its own magic place. We will present them all in our future posts.

#31 - Procrastinating
Yeah, we're very good at that.
Watching "Tangled" or a fight with the brushes
are always better than folding the clothes,
walking the dog or doing homework
(in case you don't know, adults do homework
as much as children. The only difference is
adults take homework voluntarily.
But even if homework was taken voluntarily,
it doesn't mean that we're not procrastinating :D).

#30 - Rara avis in terris, nigroque simillima cycno
One of the rare moments when we both agreed to eat the same dish: dumplings with fried onion.
Click, click! This is precious!

#29 - History repeats itself
Both my parents were born in peasant families and they were the firsts
from their relatives living in an apartment in a big city.
As a child, I was sent to our peasant relatives from the first day of each vacation
because my parents had nobody around to watch and feed me during the day.
Looking back, I am very grateful they chose to solve the issue like that
because the vacations spent at countryside were the best time of my childhood.
I was blending very well among my peasant relatives,
but some things were very strange compared to my back home apartment.
The strangest among all was the fact that during winter all people in the house
were practically staying and living in only one room: the kitchen.
The kitchen was very large and had not only a cooking and eating area
(wood stove, table, chairs, cupboard), but also a sleeping area
(one or two large beds, depending on the number of family members).
There were 2 main reasons for that: temperature & economy.
As the place where fire was burning all day long for cooking and all night long for heating,
the kitchen was the warmest room in the house.
The other rooms were not heated at all during winter or very rarely.
For economy reasons because wood was not cheap, nor easy to cut in pieces for the fire.
As I said, I was blending very well, but the fact that I was forced
to stay, eat and sleep in one room with 5 more people was not funny at all.
Therefore, one thing I truly appreciate is privacy.
The other thing I truly appreciate is warmth during winter.
I hate cold and winter so much that I'd wish to be able to hibernate.
Get asleep in the autumn and wake up in the spring.
This year the winter was very, very cold.
And I live in an old house, heated by gas stoves.
Each room has an independent stove and only one is really performing:
the one from Octav's room. The other two are performing much worse
and they are not able to heat properly the other rooms.
As a privacy lover, I don't like to invade my son's space.
But as a warmth lover I had to.
And that's how I ended repeating the history:
crowding together in the warmest room of the house.
Isn't it funny?
Note: Don't worry, we're not cooking, eating, nor sleeping all together in Octav's room.
We're just chatting, playing, surfing the net or reading. :)

#28 - Fabulously sick
Last couple of weeks, both of us have been sick.
Very, ultra, mega, super, fabulously sick.
That's why we haven't been around lately.
But now we're back.

#27 - Relativity of heights
Damn, he's growing fast. On flats, we're already the same height.
But on my 13 cm tall boots, I'm breathing higher airs. :P

#26 - Every Sunday and Friday meals
Like any family, we have our family traditions.
Among them, two are unbreakable:
every Sunday we visit Puiu's parents
(Puiu = my husband = Octav's father = the photographer behind all the photos on this blog)
and every Friday we visit my mother.
With some rare exceptions caused by travels or sickness,
we never missed any of those visits in the last 14 years.
we never missed any of those visits in the last 14 years.
Why? Because we enjoy them very much:
the food is good (best meals of the week), our parents are nice and the atmosphere is totally fun.
The picture above is from last Sunday visit at Puiu's parents.
